AUSTIN (KXAN) — Lake Travis and Dripping Springs scored big victories to open the 2025 Texas high school football season Friday.

The No. 9 Cavaliers turned back Arlington Martin 48-21 at home, while the Tigers knocked off the defending 6A-Division II champions and sixth-ranked Vipers 41-14.

Prosper ended Westlake's 10-game winning streak in season openers, knocking off the No. 4 Chaparrals 29-22 at Crusader Stadium in Belton.

Bowie took care of Manor 49-14, and LBJ dispatched San Antonio Sam Houston 46-13. Lago Vista picked up a 15-6 win over Burnet.
