Mike Caskey

SALISBURY — Rowan County Commissioner Mike Caskey is back in the States, and the county will welcome him back with a ceremony on Tuesday before he retakes his seat on the board.

The ceremony is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, just before the Rowan County Board of Commissioners meeting at 3 p.m. The meeting has been moved to Tuesday due to the Labor Day holiday.

Caskey has been serving in the Middle East as a member of the National Guard since October of 2024. Caskey, who serves as a staff sergeant, was deployed as part of Operation Spartan Shield, an operation aimed at strengthening relationships with U.S. partners in the region and strengthening their defense capacities.
