WHEELING — With the long Labor Day weekend upon the Ohio Valley, there are plenty of activities for families to enjoy as the summer season winds down.
Many of those activities will be found this weekend at Oglebay Park Resort. Not only will the traditional Fort Henry Days festival be held, but several other events are on the docket. Fort Henry Days, to run Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the resort’s Levenson Shelter and Camp Russel, brings visitors face to face with how 18th century life was led in the Ohio Valley.
Those who walk through the festival site will see blacksmithing, needlework and tanning, along with “Punch and Judy” children’s shows and food and brewing discussions and demonstrations. The highlight of the festival comes at 3 p.m. each day with a reenactment o
