NORMANGEE, Texas (KBTX) - The Somerville Yeguas spoiled the Normangee Panthers’ home opener Friday night, pulling away late for a 34-18 victory under the bright lights in Week 1 of Friday Football Fever.

The Panthers struck first. On fourth down from the six, quarterback Marshall Harris handed off to PJ Edwards, who powered across the goal line for a 6-0 lead.

Early in the second quarter, Harris fired a rocket to Trey Kirven in the corner of the end zone, pushing Normangee’s advantage to 12-0.
