CARTHAGE, Mo. — From stealing a possession by recovering a surprise onside kick on the first play of the game to scoring its sixth touchdown of the half with 21 seconds left, a flawless first half of football by the Carthage High School Tigers led to a 50-8 rout of the Waynesville High School Tigers in week one of Friday night lights.
“It was very unusual, all the different aspects of the game seemed to happen from the onside kick to the two-point conversion, the fumbles, the punt return,” said Carthage head coach John Guidie. “Everything that is football happened in that first half.” ×
