Aug. 24, 1970 — Bob Iverson of Hyde picked up his 15th victory this season, taking the modified main event in stock car races at the Escanaba Speedway. He was followed by Hubert Brazeau of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. and Bob Hengesh of Esky.
Jerry Richer of Schaffer took the checkered flag in the modified feature, followed by Herb Iverson of Hyde and Ed Powley. Ray Gardner of Escanaba became a double-winner, taking the modified first heat and semi-feature. Herb Iverson captured the second heat with Gary Randall of Esky runner-up.
