KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. – A rollover crash on Interstate 82 sent two Moses Lake residents to the hospital, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).

The accident happened Friday at 3:05 p.m., approximately nine miles east of Ellensburg. A white Ford Expedition traveling eastbound near milepost 7 veered off the road and hit a dirt embankment, causing it to roll over.

The 41-year-old driver and 44-year-old passenger, neither of whom were wearing seatbelts, were injured. The driver was taken to Harborview Medical Center, while the passenger was transported to Multicare Yakima Memorial Hospital.

WSP reported that drugs or alcohol might have contributed to the crash, and charges against the driver are pending. The incident remains under investigation.
