OAK PARK – Two second-half touchdowns got Oak Park back within reach, but the Knights inability to score a third allowed Farmington to escape with a 17-12 victory in Friday night’s season opener.
“I think it was 10-0 at half, and I told them (then) that’s what we were up last year with them and that they’re gonna come back,” Farmington head coach Jason Albrecht said. “They’re a dangerous team, they’re well-coached, and I just said that we’ve got to stay up. A lot of these kids haven’t been in a varsity second half like that before, so we battled through some adversity caused by ourselves, but it worked out for us in the end.”
