Recent dry weather has left many of us spending days on end soaking up the outdoors , whether hosting barbeques at home or enjoying walks in the countryside. But amongst the excitement, it's hard to ignore the effect the severe weather is having on our landmarks, and reservoirs are the first to show the signs.

Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District , as well as the neighbouring Howden Reservoir and Derwent Dam, are beginning to unearth its hidden secrets - namely the lost "Atlantis" village that once bustled below. Ashopton was demolished in 1943 before being submerged as part of the Derwent Valley scheme, and Derwent village was also demolished around this time.
