CERRITOS — The first half brought what looked like a potential neck-and-neck rivalry game.

That all changed thanks to Cerritos football’s dominating second-half performance, led by quarterback Justin Segun. The senior captain helped the offense prevail with two total touchdowns and 111 total yards.

Cerritos came into the game with crosstown bragging rights, defeating the Gladiators in a lopsided 37-0 win last year. This year was no different as Cerritos football beat Gahr, 35-7.

Both teams struggled to get much going in the first half, with just one touchdown scored late in the first quarter. Segun found wide receiver Terrence Grissom in the endzone for a 13-yard touchdown pass on the Dons’ third offensive possession.
