East Los Angeles -- Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda Solis announced today she will run for Congress if voters approve Proposition 50 this November, which would redraw congressional boundaries in California.
“The working people of Southern California are under assault by the Trump Administration – and I won’t just stand by and let it happen,” Solis said in a statement. She pointed to attacks on labor unions, immigrants, affordable housing and healthcare as reasons for her campaign.
Solis would seek to represent the redrawn 38th Congressional District, which would be located primarily in southeast Los Angeles County.
Her supervisorial district now encompasses unincorporated East Los Angeles and much of the Eastside within the City of Los Angeles. Term limits prevent her from seek
