U.S. immigration authorities have announced removal proceedings against two foreign nationals following separate criminal convictions in Nevada and Pennsylvania.

In the first case, Xin Lui, a Chinese national and lawful permanent resident of the United States, was ordered removed to China after being convicted of involuntary manslaughter and child abuse.

Lui was arrested last month in Las Vegas by Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents working in coordination with federal law enforcement partners.

Lui’s convictions stem from a 2022 incident in Nevada, where she intentionally threw her 3-month-old infant from the second story of her residence, resulting in the child’s death.
