Third suspect in assault on journalist arrested

The Baja California State Attorney General's Office has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the assault and threats against journalist Jorge Heras. The arrest follows an attack earlier this week that Heras and authorities believe was related to his professional work, La Voz newspaper reported.

On Tuesday, Jorge Heras was beaten by a man outside the radio studio where he hosts a program. According to Heras, his assailant explicitly told him to “knock it off,” a clear reference to his reporting. The journalist reported that on Wednesday afternoon, he was informed that a man had been detained in connection with the incident that left him with injuries.
