After more than a month off school many Coventry parents will be considering what to do with their children on the last weekend of the holidays.

But, as ever with the UK, it might be best to check the weather forecast before packing up a picnic or filling the paddling pool. Weather experts say the final few days before September arrives will be far from ideal with a headline of 'wet and windy'.

For today (Saturday 30 August), the Met Office predicts: "Some early morning sunshine will soon be replaced by widely cloudy skies.
