Although New Castle County Council narrowly voted this week not to seek an official review of how a property reassessment was conducted, the county is compiling information about how it "went down."

The reassessment's impact was most felt in New Castle County, with many experiencing property tax increases, and school tax increases.

County Executive Marcks Henry in a statement said his office has supported a thorough review of the reassessment process ever since the request was made by two council members July 30th. Henry said County Auditor Robert Wasserbach and his teem are gathering information related to the appraisal carried out by Tyler Technologies.

The auditor's office is independent of the executive's office.
