September means back to school for Kingston and area students. It also means the return of buses to local roadways and the need for extra caution among drivers.
According to Kingston Police, it’s a busy time of year that they will be keeping a close eye on.
“We are going to have increased enforcement in school areas,” said acting Sgt. Josh Brimble, who is the supervisor for the Traffic Safety Unit with Kingston Police. “Some of the things we look for at the start of the school year, especially in the community safety zones, which are all around the school areas, is speed. We’re also going to be looking for any type of careless driving, seatbelt use and distracted driving.”
