As Yosemite National Park continues to make headlines following major staff shortages, layoffs, funding cuts, hiring freezes, and even firing a worker who placed a trans flag on the iconic El Capitan monolith (for which the National Park Service may actually prosecute the former employee , too), its workforce has finally decided enough is enough; they've banded together and voted to unionize. Moreover, Yosemite employees are not the only national park staff in California to do so either. At least one other park has also hopped on board.

Given several grievances over the last eight months regarding national parks and the National Park Service, employees see it as a welcome move that will lead to their collective voices finally being heard.
