SILOAM SPRINGS -- Siloam Springs was playing lights out against Rogers Heritage in the season-opener for both teams Friday night.
Then the lights actually went out.
The stadium lights went black three different times in the first half. But before that, Siloam Springs had taken firm control at Panther Stadium.
The game was called just 47 seconds before halftime with Siloam Springs leading 21-0.
Rogers Heritage Athletic Director Matt Murray said the game was ruled a no-contest since it didn't make it to halftime.
"We made the decision, (Heritage) Coach (Eric) Munoz and the administrative team made the decision not to, for the safety of our kids, to come back out on the field," Murray said.
