PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A Portsmouth woman has been sentenced to more than a year in prison for a 2022 crash that killed her passenger while she was driving under the influence.

On Friday, a judge sentenced Tiffanie Wallace to one year and eight months behind bars, followed by three years of supervised probation.

Wallace was convicted in April of involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence in the death of 25-year-old Khadijah Wiggins.

Prosecutors said on March 13, 2022, around 4 a.m., Wallace was driving southbound on the 4000 block of Cedar Lane when she tried to make a left turn in front of an oncoming vehicle that had the right of way. The crash left Wiggins, a rear passenger in Wallace’s car, with fatal injuries.
