OCEAN CITY — A week and a day after City Council derailed plans for a multimillion-dollar Icona hotel at the former site of Wonderland, a group of potential investors worked on a strategy moving forward.
They call their proposal Wonderland Commons.
Developer Eustace Mita, who owns the Icona hotel chain and Achristavest home construction company, did not get the vote he wanted at the Aug. 21 council meeting.
After the vote, he said he would sell the property for $25 million, what he described as the appraised market value, which would give him a modest return on his investment.
Now, Ocean City waits to see what happens next.
