The city marches on to the sound of its own beat, celebrated for its culture, creativity, and cuisine. It attracts visitors and keeps locals living there for generations.
"We'll never change, we'll never leave, we'll never break, and we'll never fold," said Drummer Eldridge Andrews, a cultural bearer from a long line of musicians.
Despite the devastation in late August 2005, when the levees broke and the city flooded, the spirit of New Orleans was bent but not broken.
The community came together, regardless of race, age, or economic status, to rebuild the city.
