SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - A new face is starting at quarterback this year for Notre Dame, as redshirt freshman CJ Carr will be making his first collegiate start on Sunday night at Miami.
Here’s a look at Carr’s timeline to becoming Notre Dame’s starting quarterback.
Carr went to high school at Saline High School in Michigan and is the grandson of legendary Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr. In three seasons starting at Saline, he threw for over 8,000 yards with 78 touchdowns.
On June 9, 2022, he announced his commitment to Notre Dame.
He was then able to enroll early in December 2023, getting to campus in time for Notre Dame’s bowl practices for the Sun Bowl .
