HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- An event honoring International Overdose Awareness Day is coming to Henderson at Central Park on August 31 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
According to officials, the event is free and open to the public. It is designed to honor lives lost, support those who remain and raise awareness to end the stigma surrounding drug addiction.
The event will include: • An awareness walk and balloon release • Live music and entertainment (Soul in the Pocket) • Guest speakers (Darren Hobbs from A&E’s “Intervention”) • Family activities (foam party, bounce house, and more!) • Community resources
