While this week has seen some much-needed precipitation in the Grand Valley, the Labor Day weekend should be mostly dry.

National Weather Service meteorology Gillian Felton said this week’s precipitation was part of the normal summer monsoonal moisture that brings rain to western Colorado. That system continued to bring showers Friday.

“We have some moisture that moved in (Friday) from the remnants of a tropical system off in the Pacific, but that will pass through the day,” Felton said. “We are looking to start drying out a little bit over the weekend.”

Mesa County may still see some precipitation to start the weekend, Felton said, but that will likely be limited to the higher elevation areas today.
