A celebrity peer has appeared in court accused of drugging and raping a woman.

Lord Brocket, 73, who finished fourth on the 2004 series of I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! was arrested on Friday.

He appeared in the dock at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday charged with two counts of rape in London on 10 August and one count of sexual assault by penetration in the village of Warbleton, East Sussex, on 5 May.

Brocket, from Fulham, west London , spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and address during the short hearing, where the allegations were outlined by prosecutor Aarya Mishra.

They all relate to the same woman, who cannot be identified because she is an alleged victim of sexual offences.

Brocket was not asked to enter pleas to any of the charges, which can only
