HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Several families are without a home after a fire in Hartford on early Saturday morning.

First responders were called to the area of South Whitney Street after a report of a structure fire, the fire department said.

When crews arrived they found a heavy fire on the back porches of a three-story brick multi-family home along with extension into the third floor.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire.

Officials said all occupants were accounted for.

No injuries were reported.

The back porches partially collapsed during this incident.

Five families have been displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hartford Fire Marshal’s Office.

No further details were released.
