GREENE COUNTY, Mo. — The Springfield Greene County Health Department is using National Grief Awareness Day, August 30th, to remind people about the resources available to help manage grief and loss.
The Health Department says while everyone experiences loss, no two healing journeys are the same.
For those walking through grief, there are some small acts of self-care they recommend to help carry the weight: write a letter to the person you lost, talk with a trusted friend or counselor, journal your thoughts and memories, and give yourself permission to rest.
SGCHD says there are ways to connect with supportive communities that understand what you might be going through with Lost and Found Grief Center and Mental Health 417.
