Millions are set to take to the skies and the roads for Labor Day weekend, but the holiday rush is seemingly taking its time to hit LAX.

KTLA was live at the airport – one of the busiest in the nation – on Friday, where many travelers were greeted by surprisingly short lines.

Around 6 a.m. Saturday morning at L.A.’s primary airport, it seemed as if the masses were still waking up, with the situation at Terminal 7 being described by KTLA 5’s Carlos Herrera as “pretty good.”

"The crowds are smaller and people are in a much better mood," Carlos noted.

According to Transportation Security Administration projections, a record 17 million people will travel over the Labor Day holiday weekend, which signals the unofficial end of summer.
