Gordon Ramsay, the renowned celebrity chef, announced on Instagram Saturday that he has been diagnosed with skin cancer. The 58-year-old restaurateur revealed that he recently underwent surgery to remove a basal cell carcinoma from his skin. In his post, Ramsay expressed gratitude for the medical team at The Skin Associates for their prompt action in addressing his condition.

"Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma thank you!" he wrote. He also shared a light-hearted message, urging his followers to use sunscreen. "Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend. I promise you it’s not a face lift! I’d need a refund..."

The post included photos showing a large bandage on the side of his face and neck, as well as stitches near his ear. Basal cell carcinoma is a common form of skin cancer that typically arises from long-term exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. According to medical experts, this type of cancer often appears on sun-exposed areas of the body, such as the face and neck, and can manifest as a growth or sore that does not heal.

Ramsay's health advice is not new; he has previously shared warnings with his fans. In 2024, he encouraged them to wear helmets after suffering injuries from a cycling accident.

The chef is well-known for his roles in various cooking reality shows, including "Hell’s Kitchen," "Kitchen Nightmares," and "MasterChef." His latest show, "Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service," premiered on Fox in May. Ramsay operates over 80 restaurants worldwide, with more than 20 located in the United States.

Following his announcement, many fans and followers expressed their support in the comments section of his post, wishing him a speedy recovery and thanking him for the reminder about sun safety.
