(WHTM) — Penn State head coach James Franklin addressed doubters and critics in a pregame interview with CBS Sports.
CBS Sports interviewed Franklin ahead of Penn State's opening matchup with the Nevada Wolf Pack, where he discussed the "championship or bust" narrative surrounding the Nittany Lions in 2025.
"I think a positive is we're a part of that conversation," Franklin told CBS. "We're getting criticized for seasons that 99% of programs in the country would die to have, but that's why you came to Penn State. That comes with it, that's part of it."
"The best part about all of it is we're in total control of the season, of the games, and of the narrative that's out there," Franklin added.
The Nittany Lions will open the 2025 season today with a 3:30 p.m. contest against the Wolf Pac
