HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. —

The Kentucky State Fire Marshal's office has confirmed that a lightning strike is to blame for a fire that destroyed a Hardin County fire station.

Vine Grove Station #3 went up in flames last week.

The building and three fire trucks were ruined.

The department also lost all of the items they use for their "Santa Truck," which were not covered by insurance.

They're now accepting donations at Vine Grove City Hall to make up for that loss.
