ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A homicide investigation is underway after a teenager was fatally shot Friday evening in north St. Louis County.

The St. Louis County Police Department reports a 17-year-old boy was fatally shot around 10:30 p.m. Friday near the 11000 block of Larimore Road.

Around that time, officers from North County Precinct responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the area. Officers then learned the victim was transported to a hospital with apparent gunshot wounds. The victim later died from his injuries.

It's unclear what led up to the shooting death, and not suspect information is available at this time.
