A Chattanooga man is facing several charges after a search of his home on Rubio Street revealed stashes of drugs and a stolen handgun.
While executing a search warrant Friday, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office say they saw Derrick McDuffy and a teenage boy running through the home.
Detectives then observed a white, powdery substance strewn throughout the residence.
In an affidavit obtained by Local 3 News, HCSO says it was obvious McDuffy was "attempting to destroy evidence" by throwing cocaine in the floor air return and attempting to flush it in the toilet.
When all three occupants of the home were detained, detectives recovered:
96 grams of suspected crack cocaine
256 grams of suspected cocaine
244 grams of THC vapes
974 grams of suspected marijuana
50 grams of ecstasy
