JACKSON, Mo. (KFVS) - In front of one of the loudest crowds in Missouri high school football, Jackson took home a signature win over Cardinal Ritter.

The Indians defeated the Lions 23-20 in The Pit, in front of a standing-room-only crowd, largely made up of a few thousand screaming Jackson fans.

Friday’s opener was a rematch of last year’s season opener, in which Cardinal Ritter dominated the Indians 44-7 in St. Louis.

But a much different Ritter squad, along with a vastly improved Indians team, made for a compelling matchup headed into the Game of the Night . And accordingly, fans and media flocked into The Pit, hoping to see an instant classic.

And they got one.
