TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — One of the three dogs found abandoned behind a gas station in Lutz earlier this week died Friday evening.

On Thursday, two young girls discovered the mother, named Blessings, and her two puppies, Hope and Spirit, behind the Blessings Gas Station on U.S. 41.

All three dogs were urine-soaked and emaciated, each weighing only 16 pounds.

The girls took the dogs to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, where veterinarians gave Blessings, who was in the worst condition, only a 50% chance of survival.

By Friday afternoon, the Humane Society said Blessings had stopped eating, her temperature had dropped to 93 degrees, and her breathing became labored. She said goodbye to her babies and pass
