Hazbin Hotel is one of the biggest new shows of the past few years, and for good reason. With its fun cast and premise, fluid animation, and utterly infectious songwriting, Hazbin Hotel was quick to strike a chord with fans and critics, and it’s essentially become the face of what’s possible for indie animation.

As great as Hazbin Hotel is, though, it isn’t without its criticisms, most notably in one specific writing choice that the creators often engage in. It’s unfortunately easy to see where those criticisms are coming from, but surprisingly, one new anime of the summer has been going viral for making it work, and that’s nothing but great to see.
