The Tulane football team rolled over Northwestern 23-3 on Saturday at Yulman Stadium, but Green Wave coach Jon Sumrall wasn't all smiles in the press conference after the game.
Tulane suited up in green helmets and green jerseys for the game, but Sumrall said that the uniform combination was not what he had originally planned to go with for the season opener.
Sumrall said that he requested to have his squad wear white jerseys just like the Tulane football team wore in its first game following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but Northwestern denied the request.
"When you disrespect the city of New Orleans, you're going to run into it," Sumrall said after the dominant victory. "I'm not trying to be a jerk but don't disrespect the city of New Orleans."
