JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) -- Construction work at the city's Central Park is set to begin as some changes in the area are already apparent.
The decorative cannons that have stood on either side of the bust of Johnstown founder Joseph John have been removed, along with benches and the Pasquerilla Fountain, according to our media partners at the Tribune-Democrat.
As the caution tape has been placed, residents will notice that the area will be fenced off, allowing crews to begin the work in the upcoming days. All work is currently scheduled to be done by Aug. 31, 2026, but that date is dependent on weather as well as supply chain availability.
