ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Two months after he was hit by a car and airlifted to the hospital, a Carrollton County police officer is making strides in his recovery.

The department shared an update from Dustin Krish’s sister-in-law, Jessica Krish. She said he has been declared “minimally conscious” and recently earned an 8 on his Coma Recovery Scale — the highest score yet.

“We still have a very long road ahead of us, but God is answering our prayers in a big way,” she wrote.

Dustin was struck by a car while directing traffic near the Ingles on Highway 27 on June 11. H
