A person was hospitalized on Saturday after being shot in an apartment in Maumelle, police said.

Police were notified Saturday that the victim was at a medical facility, according to a social media post by Maumelle police. Officers reportedly determined that the shooting happened in an apartment in the 200 block of Pine Forest Drive, located just west of Maumelle Boulevard about 2 miles southwest of Exit 142 off Interstate 40.

The victim's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, the post says.

"An involved party" was taken into custody on unrelated charges and was being interviewed by detectives, the post says.
