OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - On August 23, 2018 , Kayla Brown’s life changed forever.

“Keith was 22 years old when he was taken away. A very vibrant young man.”

Her son, known as “Keyz,” lost to gun violence.

“This is something us moms live with everyday.”

Kayla wasn’t alone. On Saturday, Fontenelle Park was evidence of that.

“This is the second annual Gone But Not Forgotten Community Walk,” Bush said.

Buffy Bush is the CEO and Founder of Families of the Stolen , putting a spotlight on area families, just like Kayla’s, whose loved ones were murdered.

Many not knowing the answer to how they died.

Bush’s sister, Jamelia Hesseltine, passed away 14 years ago.

“Her murder is still unsolved,” she said.
