One of the Aliquippa Junior High School football coaches injured in a Beaver County bus crash last weekend has filed a lawsuit claiming recklessness and negligence against the transit company and bus driver, according to multiple news reports.

The bus was taking the junior high team to a game at Pine-Richland when it crashed along the 1900 block of Shaffer Road in Economy around 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23.

Jonathan Morris, a volunteer coach for the team, is seeking $50,000 in damages.

Morris said the bus driver, employed by ABC Transit, allowed the bus to reach a speed “entirely too fast” while going downhill, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette .
