A software issue led to thousands of reported Verizon outages across the country Saturday.
According to the website Downdetector , reports of Verizon outages began mid-morning Saturday, with spikes into the afternoon.

Nationwide, more than 10,000 Verizon outages were reported as of 2:40 p.m. ET according to Downdecector. By 3:40 p.m., that number had ballooned to more than 23,000, the site showed.
A spokesperson for Verizon said the company was "aware of a software issue impacting wireless service for some customers."
"Our engineers are engaged and we are working quickly to identify and solve the issue," the spokesperson said late in the afternoon.
