ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Almost 60 people have qualified for the 2025 Atlanta City Council elections.

All seats on the council are up for election. The mayor’s seat and the city council president’s seat are also up for election.

In total, 59 candidates qualified for the 2025 elections. Fifteen of those candidates are incumbents, including Mayor Andre Dickens.

Three others are vying to challenge Dickens for the mayor’s office.

District 11, which includes the Ben Hill, Deerwood and Huntington neighborhoods, saw 10 people qualify for the election. Marci Collier Overstreet, the current District 11 representative, qualified for the city council president post.
