Disney has unveiled their next animated feature film, and it is an original idea. Even though Walt Disney Animation typically avoided sequels, the company has increased the number of sequels since the 2010s, with 2024's Moana 2 being reworked from a Disney+ series into a feature film, following a string of original films like Strange World and Wish, which disappointed at the box office. The studio has Zootopia 2 set for a November 2025 release, and on the horizon are Frozen 3 and 4, but in 2026, Walt Disney Animation will release an original animated film.
