AMHERST – A promising start led to a familiar finish for the UMass football team on Saturday, as the Minutemen fell to visiting Temple, 42-10, at McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
“I know what everyone is going to think,” UMass coach Joe Harasymiak said. “Same old UMass. I’m good. We are going to keep never giving up. We are going to see how we respond to adversity. Adversity is a revealer.”
The Minutemen and their first-year coach had clear goals going into the season: eliminate penalties, create big plays and win the turnover battle.
