BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – A deputy with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has been fired after officials discovered he was part of an investigation into an indecent exposure incident.

Sheriff Duane Lewis told News 2 that one of their deputies, Jeffrey Wilson, was terminated last week after learning about a criminal investigation by the Mount Pleasant Police Department.

Sheriff Lewis explained that a photo of a man wanted by Mount Pleasant PD was sent to his department, and they were able to identify Wilson as the individual in the photo.

After learning about the nature of that investigation, Sheriff Lewis terminated Wilson from the sheriff’s office. Wilson was arrested several days later.
