LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — One person died after a Jet Ski crash near Captiva Pass on Saturday, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

NBC affiliate WBBH reported that FWC, along with multiple other agencies, responded to an incident involving two vessels in Lee County.

FWC told reporters that a Jet Ski with two people and a 28-foot vessel carrying four people were traveling in the channel in Pine Island Sound when the two collided.

One of the passengers on the Jet Ski sustained injuries requiring them to be airlifted to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown. The second person on the Jet Ski died at the scene.

All four people aboard the 28-foot vessel were uninjured.
