LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - On Saturday in Lansing, people supported a good cause by eating chicken wings at the 11th annual Michigan Chicken Wing Festival.
The festival allows vendors to showcase their talent and food to the public, while also helping raise funds to support Against All Eyes, a non-profit that supports cancer survivors.
Shirley Carter-Powell, with the festival, spoke on why she puts this festival on every year.
“It’s for Against All Eyes, the non-profit that supports not only breast cancer survivors, which was started in 1999 for African-American women and survivors of cancer,” said Carter-Powell. “And we’ve expanded our mission to include all cancers as well as the underserved community of homeless, low-income families, disabled veterans, and anyone with disability,” said
