ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

It's an all-out celebration this weekend at Balloon Fiesta Park, where throngs of happy people — 21 and over and perhaps getting happier as time passes — can choose from 200 wines made by 20 local wineries, good food, shop for almost anything, and listen to some of New Mexico's best bands while roaming wide open spaces from noon to 6 p.m.

Kristina Gordon, wine glass in hand, said that while some like their wine dry, she likes the sweet variety made by the Ponderosa Valley Winery.

"It's a blast, we are having so much fun," Gordon said. "We love the live music and fun, beautiful people of New Mexico."

In fact, Gordon would make a pretty good promoter after this year's Harvest Wine and Music Festival ends Sunday, and planning begins for one in 2026.
